Evidence-Based
Interventions
Individuals face challenging circumstances every day, such as justice and child welfare system involvement, mental health crises, and more. Empower helps youth and adults overcome these obstacles by providing evidence-based interventions tailored to their specific needs.
Multisystemic Therapy
Powered by MST Services
Multisystemic Therapy (MST®) is a scientifically proven intervention for at-risk youth and their families. Therapists work in the home, school and community and are on call 24/7 to provide caregivers with the tools they need to transform the lives of troubled youth. Research demonstrates that MST reduces criminal activity and other undesirable behavior.
Functional Family Therapy
Powered by FFT LLC
Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is an evidence-based intervention for youth and families. This high-quality, strength-focused family counseling model is designed primarily for at-risk youth who have been referred by the juvenile justice, mental health, school, or child welfare systems. Services are short-term and conducted in clinic and home settings and can also be provided in schools, child welfare facilities, probation and parole systems, and mental health facilities.
Brief Strategic Family Therapy
Powered by BSFT Institute
The BSFT® Program is an evidence-based intervention for youth aged 6 to 17 at risk for behavioral issues, including substance abuse and delinquency. Designed as a prevention, early intervention, and treatment approach, it typically involves 16 family-centered sessions at accessible locations, including the home. Implemented across diverse populations, the program addresses maladaptive family dynamics—such as poor communication, inappropriate alliances, and dysfunctional boundaries—viewing them as the root of adolescent issues. By restructuring these interactions, BSFT aims to improve family functioning and foster long-term positive outcomes for youth.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a client-centered intervention designed to enhance intrinsic motivation and to engage clients in the change process. Motivational Interviewing training gives staff the skills they need to work with clients who are unwilling or unable to change.
Gender-Responsive Interventions
Powered by Orbis
Strengths-based and trauma-informed interventions for women and girls.

Our evidence-based interventions are: research-based.,cost-effective.,successful long-term. |
Research-based
Our interventions are backed by decades of research, and the organizations who carry out the interventions follow strict ongoing adherence standards.
Cost-effective
Out-of-home placement into justice systems, foster care, and residential mental health facilities are proven to be costly. Our interventions lessen the need for out-of-home placements and save community dollars.
Successful Long-term
Studies show that our evidence-based approaches demonstrate positive results long after program completion.
